Welcome to CameraStamp

While building a skillset modeling tube amplifiers, we found ourselves watching old Beatles footage, the Ed Sullivan broadcasts from February 1964, and we kept noticing the picture as much as the music. The highlights had a glow to them, and there was a dark halo around the brightest things in frame: a drum head, a white collar, the sheen on a guitar. Fast motion smeared and lagged a little. It wasn’t a flaw in the tape. It was the camera.

We eventually found out that those cameras ran on image orthicon tubes, which is to say the broadcast look of that whole era was tube dynamics, the same thing we’d been modeling in amplifiers. First in black and white, then adding more tubes for color, before better technology replaced them. Lo and behold, we’d been looking at a tube problem the whole time.

So we attempted to model an orthicon tube, and we loved the results. But in true -Stamp fashion, we couldn’t stop there. We decided to model film stocks, then lenses, then darkroom effects, and somewhere in between it occurred to us: the records we model in AmpStamp and SynthStamp came wrapped in artwork made with this gear. Now you can sound and look like the records you love. It was a full circle moment, and we’re excited to share it with you.

Every model and effect works for still photography as well as video, and on the latest Apple devices you can shoot in 4K for cinematic footage.

CameraStamp is available for pre-order today, releases October 28, 2026.
